Meet the Band – Wheelhouse Deluxe
Christopher Edwards – Lead Guitarist & Vocalist
At the helm of Wheelhouse Deluxe is Christopher Edwards, our powerhouse frontman whose guitar solos hit just as hard as his vocals. With a love for everything from gritty blues to high-octane pub rock, Chris brings the kind of stage presence that pulls people to the dance floor and keeps them there. A seasoned performer with a wicked sense of humour and a pedalboard bigger than most apartment kitchens, Chris is the musical engine of the group—and he’s not afraid to rev it.
Sam Hilder – Bass & Rhythm Guitar, Backing Vocals
Holding down the groove (and occasionally the dad jokes), Sam Hilder is our multi-talented utility player. Whether he's laying down smooth basslines or switching to rhythm guitar, Sam brings versatility, rock-solid timing, and a knack for harmony that gives our sound its depth and drive. He’s the kind of guy who can jump between genres without breaking a sweat—unless we’re on a hot stage, in which case, everyone’s sweating.
Phill Jones – Drums
On the kit is Phill Jones, the rhythmic backbone and heartbeat of Wheelhouse Deluxe. With precision, flair, and a deep love for pocket grooves and big fills, Phill keeps the band locked in and the energy high. Whether it’s a slow-burning blues number or a full-throttle rock anthem, he’s the one steering the tempo and setting the tone. Plus, he’s the only guy who can carry an entire drum kit and still make it look cool.
Together, these three bring the horsepower, the harmony, and the high-voltage vibes that make Wheelhouse Deluxe more than just a covers band—they’re a live show experience.
Cam Venz
Every band dreams of having a secret weapon, and for Wheelhouse Deluxe, that weapon is Cam. A true multi-instrumentalist, he can jump behind the drum kit, pick up the bass, or shred a guitar — and if that wasn’t enough, he’s also got the kind of vocals that can stop a crowd in its tracks. It’s not an exaggeration to say that if it makes noise, Cam can play it, and probably make the rest of us rethink our career choices in the process.
Of course, his “official” musical history is a little hazy. Depending on who you ask, Cam once tied Willie Nelson’s bandana during a 1960 tour, roadied for John Bonham’s left drumstick across Europe, and even taught Keith Richards how to play guitar — on Robert Johnson’s Telecaster, no less. He swears all of this is true, and honestly, we’re too scared to argue with him.
When he’s not rewriting the history books, Cam brings an effortless energy and versatility to the stage. He’s the guy who makes the impossible look easy, the Swiss Army Knife of rock ’n’ roll, and proof that sometimes the universe just hands out a little too much talent to one person.
Wheelhouse Deluxe might not always know what instrument he’ll end up playing on a given night, but one thing’s certain: when Cam’s on the stage, the show’s going to be something special.
